A man was charged with assault on Thursday after a recorded video showed him slapping a worker at a construction site in Phoenix, Arizona, court records show.
The video, which was viewed nearly 8 million times on TikTok, shows the man yelling at a woman – who is working at the job site – and telling her to “leave” before slapping her.
A Phoenix Police Department officer responded to the call on Tuesday at around 12:30 p.m. local time and arrested Brent Hospelhorn for assault, the department said in a news release to USA TODAY.
“This suspect was cited in lieu of detention and the suspect is being recommended for charges,” police said.
According to Phoenix City Court records, Hospelhorn is facing one assault charge and is scheduled to appear in court on May 26, the Arizona Republic reported.
Hospelhorn owns a construction company in Arizona
TikTok user Guadalupe Solano posted the video on social media last week with text captions in Spanish that translate to “no one can treat you like this, even if they’re the owner simply because the cabinet was scratched.”
Hospelhorn – who says he is the “super” in the video – owns a construction company in Scottsdale, Arizona, called BPH Construction LLP, the Arizona Republic reported.
