In this role, Garvin will lead the strategy development of global purchasing activities and strengthen partnerships with trade contractors working across Gilbane’s regions, per the release. The news comes amid the first drop in construction input prices in 2024.

In addition, Garvin will also be responsible for implementing key relationship management programs, enhancing performance and driving innovation while working to forge stronger partnerships with trade contractors serving Gilbane’s diverse market sectors, according to the news release.

Garvin’s relationship with Gilbane is a long one. While attending Bristol, Rhode Island’s Roger Williams University, he had an internship with the construction firm in 2004, per his LinkedIn account. Following graduation from the university, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management, he became a superintendent and office engineer for the firm.

His most recent position with Gilbane was as the chief purchasing agent for the company’s New England region.

“Greg will take our procurement strategy to the next level, enhancing our relationships with trade partners and bringing greater value to our clients,” said Steve Duvel, senior vice president and operations support services leader at Gilbane. “Greg’s proven ability to build relationships, innovate, and execute process improvements will be an incredible asset in this new role.”
