WASHINGTON, DC – The Nationwide Institute of Constructing Sciences (NIBS) this morning acknowledged constructed setting leaders and scholarship recipients, throughout an awards ceremony at Constructing Innovation 2022.

  • Future Leaders – Jamie Leigh Worth, Mitigation Funding Lead, Federal Emergency Administration Company
  • NIBS Innovator – Microsoft Silicon Valley Campus
  • NIBS DEI Management – GEI Consultants, Inc.
  • Mortimer M. Marshall Lifetime Achievement – Philip Schneider, retired

NIBS additionally named two recipients of the Betty and Mort Marshall Memorial Scholarship, which was established to advertise range within the constructing sciences and profit college students pursuing a profession in structure and engineering at a traditionally Black faculty or college. The scholarship was began in 2020, in reminiscence of the Marshalls. Mort was the primary member of the Nationwide Institute of Constructing Sciences. 

The 2022 scholarship recipients are Jose Portillo, a civil engineering scholar at Tennessee State College, and McKenzie Cleveland, an structure scholar at Hampton College. Every scholar will obtain $5,000 towards their tuition.
