A instructor at a Connecticut elementary faculty has been arrested after police say a fifth-grade scholar misplaced consciousness when the instructor demonstrated a chokehold maneuver.

Stefanie Sanabria, 50, was working as a math coach at Brookside Elementary Faculty  when Norwalk Public Colleges officers say she carried out a martial arts transfer on three college students.

Sanabria was employed with the college district on Aug. 24, 2021 and resigned on Friday,.Emily Morgan, a spokesperson for the college system informed USA TODAY on Wednesday. 

Sanabria was later arrested and charged with second-degree strangulation, first-degree reckless endangerment and threat of harm to a minor, Norwalk police stated.
