St. Patrick’s Day is upon us. And so is New York Metropolis’s well-known parade to have fun the vacation.

The New York Metropolis St. Patrick’s Day Parade claims to be the oldest and largest parade for St. Patrick’s Day worldwide. About 150,000 individuals march within the spectacle annually, the parade organizers say.

Based on the parade’s web site, the primary New York Metropolis St. Patrick’s day parade was held on March 17, 1762 – 14 years earlier than the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The parade falls on March 17 nearly yearly, aside from when the seventeenth falls on a Sunday – when the parade is moved to March 16, to watch the Sunday Sabbath.
